Watching the Parade
We drove up to Eagle Mountain bright and early Saturday morning, June 1, to be part of the Eagle Mountain Pony Express 5K. We had a great time, and it was my fastest 5K yet! After the race, there was a little fun run for the kids. It wasn't very long, but I was still so proud of Parker and Riley for wanting to run the whole thing. It was so neat watching Riley cross the finish line and feel so proud of herself. (I was running with Riley, and Parker was ahead of us, so I didn't get to see him cross the finish line). After the run, we drove over the the parade course to get a seat. Luckily, Cassidy's sister had already claimed seats for us earlier that morning, because the parade route was already full of blankets! We had a fair amount of time to kill before the start of the parade. Even once the parade started, there seemed to be an unusual amount of down time between some of the entries. With that said, we were still able to walk away with a bag full of candy, water bottles, numerous t-shirts and a couple of frisbees thrown in to the mix! We opted not to go to the Carnival, but went back to Grammy's and played in the water before heading to the South Towne Mall for dinner with the family.
