Where do I even begin?? We had a wonderful Easter weekend. We were very fortunate that Cassidy didn't have to work very long on Friday, and then had Saturday and Sunday completely off. It is usually very rare for us to have a lot of family time on the weekends, and if you've ever been to Costco on a Saturday, then you know why. Friday afternoon we drove up to Salt Lake and played at Discovery Gateway for a little bit before meeting Jamie and Jeff for dinner at Chipotle. We were at Discovery Gateway for a little over an hour, and Parker didn't even make it past the ball area! Anyway, after dinner, we went to Jamie and Jeff's house to stay there for the weekend. Saturday was very relaxing; mostly filled with Conference watching, and a little last minute shopping for the Easter Bunny. Saturday night, while the guys were at the Priesthood session, we dyed easter eggs and made a bunny cake. Parker did so well with the eggs last year, that I wasn't too worried about his involvement/interest this year. Bad idea...as soon as we started, he promptly popped an orange food coloring tablet into his mouth. Luckily, I noticed immediately and was able to get most of the pieces out. Of course they would be non-toxic, but when you're in the moment, everything is a worry. We had already popped the cardboard pieces out of the box so we were frantically trying to find those and insert them to read the back of the box. It was quite humorous as I look back on it. Once the eggs were colored, Parker didn't really want that much to do with the stickers/decorating. I thought for sure that he would love this particular kit because he has been obsessed with stickers lately. He would stick one or two stickers on and then say, "All done!"

Sunday morning was wonderful! What better way to spend Easter morning than in the Conference Center?? We were fortunate enough to get 4 tickets from our stake, so we were able to enjoy it with Jeff and Jamie as well. We had to be in our seats by 9:00am, so it was a little hectic getting to the point, but it was well worth it once we made it. Since we didn't have too much extra time in the morning, we decided to wait until after the morning session of Conference for our Easter activities. When we got back to Jamie and Jeff's house, the Easter Bunny had come and gone and had hidden the kids baskets. Parker first found Rileys basket, and then went looking for his. He struggled a little bit with finding his basket, so I made a candy trail to it's spot in the corner of the living room. The Easter Bunny had also hidden eggs outside. I think Parker was confused at first, but once he found the first couple of eggs, he got the hang of it. Each time that he found an egg, he wanted to drop everything and open it immediately. It took a couple of times to convince him that there were more eggs to find, and that he could open them all together inside once we were done. Then, he would just shake it to confirm the contents inside before placing it in his basket. After the final session of Conference, we had a delicious dinner of ham, funeral potatoes and rolls, followed by the bunny cake, and then Dominion. What a great weekend!
