Lincoln has so many fun activities and programs for the kids. Our first trip to the Library for story time was July 12th. It was there that we found out about the summer reading program: Make a Splash, Read! The program is designed to be completed in about 2 months (June 1-July 31), but because we didn't find out about it until mid July, we had about 2 1/2 weeks to complete it. The program consisted of visiting the library 4 times, picking and doing 10 activities from a list of 20, and reading for 10 hours. Parker did such a great job. He gets really excited to read the books that we've gotten from the library for that week (especially the Dora ones). Of course it is good to read to him period, but it certainly doesn't hurt that there were a lot of free stuff given to those who completed it. I'm kind of sad that it is over with, but now we can enjoy all the rewards from it!
