Springs Preserve Toddler Time: Garden Days

We recently discovered the Toddler Times at the Springs Preserve, and we love them! They just do an awesome job of keeping the kids entertained and just plain having fun with the kids while still teaching them.  There is a theme each week, and this week the theme was gardening, so the project was planting grass in their very own pots. They read one story followed by a craft/project of some sort. Riley was so excited to be able to decorate her pot, and she really wanted Parker to have one too.  Most of the time when Gavin gets into the markers at home, it's because Riley has left them somewhere within his reach, so I'm constantly pulling them away from him after he's colored on himself, or the sheets, or the mirror.  But today, he got to actually use markers and he was so happy every time he made a stroke of color.  He kept wanting to change markers to use as many different colors as he could. When it was time to fill our pots with soil, Gavin didn't want to move on.  He just stood there watching the man put the soil into the pots, so the guy gave him a shovel to "help". Little charmer, he even got to take the shovel home, much to his sisters dismay.
