Such a relaxing, wonderful day! Last year at this time, we had just discovered that the road conditions from Lincoln, Ne to Orem, Ut were looking less than desirable for the following day, so we made the decision to leave that day and drive all day Christmas Day. What a difference a year makes! We didn't have to be anywhere. It was so nice. All 7 of us stayed in our pi's all day (except maybe Riley because she had gotten a few new outfits for Christmas, and was excited to wear them). It was so fun watching the kids open their presents and get so excited. Parker got a football and was registered for a football league from Santa, and Riley got ballet&tap shoes, a couple of dance outfits and dance classes from Santa. After opening up presents, we of course had to take some time to play with things. Parker wanted to play Monopoly right away. Ha, that didn't quite suite everyone else's plans. :) Cassidy disappeared setting up the Roku. Grandpa and Riley got to work putting the kids tool bench together. Gavin was having a fun time with the chaos of the room; picking things up and carrying them off. We were also trying to get our breakfast of aebleskivers ready.
After breakfast, we watched "The Lone Ranger". It was neat watching it with my parents because the movie was filmed in the same location where they served their mission, so they were able to point out different areas and places that they had been. Despite the not so great reviews, we all really like the movie. We played lots of games. Santa had brought our family Monopoly and Sorry, so we of course had to try those out. We had a yummy dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, pretzel salad and rolls. I went on a short run that night so I could try out my Christmas present: a Polar heart rate monitor. :) We had a wonderful holiday!
