We finished the Book of Mormon! If no other 2012 resolutions were kept, at least we can say that we reached this goal that we had set as a family. We decided to celebrate by taking the kids up to the Mormon Trail Center for the gingerbread festival and then to Chick-Fil-A for dinner, playtime and ice cream cones. We don't have a Chick-Fil-A in Lincoln, and the kids grew to like it during our time in Maryland over the summer. So, it was a big deal for them. They even had 2 Scavenger hunts this year at the Trail Center. One with pictures for younger kids to complete, and one with a list of items. The one with pictures was very helpful for Riley, and she enjoyed finding the Grinch, Hello Kitty, and Where's Waldo among other characters. Parker was really interested in finding all items on the list and carefully studied each display before moving on. It was so fun to look at all the different varieties of gingerbread houses present. "Joy to the World" was playing in a nearby room, so we went in and watched that as well. It was a fun night!
