We drove to Kansas City the Friday after Thanksgiving to visit my brother, Steffan and his family. I am amazed by all of the things we were able to fit in during our short 3 day visit. Friday night we went to the city's drive through light display in the park. We struggled to find the place, but it was well worth the time. Saturday we went to the Crown Center with so many fun activities and places to eat right within walking distance. We started the day off by going to Crayola land to see Santa. The kids were able to play while they waited their turn to see Santa...best idea ever! After visiting with Santa, we went over to Kaleidoscope, a creative kids craft area where they can paint, color, glue, make their own puzzles, and lots more. This particular visit they had paper trees to decorate and a glow in the dark work area as well. Next, we went over to the Hallmark museum where there was immediate drama before we even made it all the way through the front door! Parker, Greyson and Riley had ran ahead and were sharing a revolving door, and Riley's foot did not make it into the door with her. Luckily, her foot was okay after we were able to get her out, just a small bruise on her ankle. It took quite a bit longer to get her calmed down though, poor thing! The kids were able to complete a scavenger hunt, watch and keep a bow being made, and get a book. We then went to Fritz's for lunch. Our food was delivered by a train directly to our table. Good thing we went for the experience and not the food, because the food was definitely not the greatest. Their was a train display going on at the Train depot, so we headed over there next. The kids spent most of their time fascinated by one particular train that would go in and out of a wall and onto the other side. There were also some lego tables that occupied our time for while. After all that, we were pretty much ready to go back to Steffan and Caryn's! We went back and relaxed for a little bit before leaving for our date night. (another post) Sunday, we spent the morning relaxing, making Christmas countdown paper chains, before heading back to Lincoln (stopping by the Temple on our way home). Oh yeah, and of course there were games and delicious Thanksgiving leftovers involved over the weekend. We had a great trip! I love how well the cousins play together (most of the time ;)) and enjoy each other's company.
