Exchanging Presents
A family in my parents ward held a "Christmas in July" themed playgroup. We had a nice lunch followed by cookie decorating, snowman marshmallows, watching a movie and exchanging gifts. They even had some of their Christmas decorations out. For presents, we were each asked to bring an item from the dollar store. To determine who received which gift, we read a special version of"The Night before Christmas" and every time a direction was read (right, left), the gift would be passed in that direction. It went so fast, it was hard to keep up with all of the rights and lefts. It was really fun to be able to do little Christmas things even with Christmas itself being 5 months away. |
