We woke up bright and early this morning to make the almost 2 hour drive to Hastings, Ne in time for the 9 am parade as part of Kool-Aid days. (Kool-Aid was invented in Hastings, Ne in 1927 by Edwin Perkins). We enjoyed the parade before getting our own Kool-Aid mug and sampling lots of different flavors. We followed that up by playing some games, and then heading over to the Hastings Museum and Planetarium. Unfortunately, Parker's pants did not make it to the Museum with us. Too much Kool-Aid and too long of lines for the bathroom. ;) We overheard one little girl asking her father why he(Parker) didn't have any pants on. To which the father replied without missing a beat, "he probably spilled Kool-Aid on them". What a good answer! We really did have such a fun day!
