Last night we went to our ward's Fall Carnival/ Chili Cook-off activity. There were about 20 entries and...our chili made it to the top 4. They didn't narrow it down from there, they just gave the same prize (2 tickets to the Hale Center Theater) to all 4 winners. Cassidy was very excited that his "woman" won a cook-off. After dinner, the kids showed off their costumes in a costume parade across the stage. (which consisted of all the kids chaotically running all over the stage) We then went down the Trick or Treat lane to get some candy, and then played a few games before finishing off the night at the cupcake walk. Parker didn't quite understand the concept behind the cupcake walk. I guess it does seem a little puzzling why it's necessary to walk around in a circle onto different pieces of paper before enjoying a treat that has been right in front of him the entire time. Luckily, the people running this area couldn't help but notice his restlessness and made him one of the first winners in his round so he could go pick out his cupcake. We had a fun evening, and it was great to be out together as a family.
